Medical Departments
The college is situated opposite Boating Basin in Clifton, a quiet area of the city, free from noise and other pollution. It is located only 4km from down town (Saddar) easily accessible by all types of public transport.
The college is housed in a modern and spacious, purpose built building having covered area of 100,000 sq. ft. The college was established in 1998. A new administration block has been added in June 2016 with HR, examination, personal etc.
There are lecture rooms, spacious learning resource centers (latest audio visual aids), auditorium having seating capacity for 300 students, seminar rooms, dissection hall, anatomy museum , pharmacology museum , laboratories for all departments (physiology, bio-chemistry , pharmacology, pathology, forensic medicine , community medicine, dental materials, community dentistry, oral pathology, phantom head lab, oral biology and oral anatomy ) library, common rooms for students and faculty members and well furnished cafeteria. Student participation in college activities is ensured through class representation. All efforts have been made to obtain the services of highly qualified and dedicated faculty members and supporting staff of national repute.
Departments

Department of Anatomy
The anatomy curriculum, includes, microscopic anatomy, development anatomy, neuro-anatomy, general anatomy and gross anatomy.

Department of BioChemistry
The college has a fully equipped Biochemistry department in all aspects. The department is headed by a senior professor of Biochemistry.

Department of
Community Health Sciences
The department undertakes to impart training in all subjects which include primary health care,demography, epidemiology..

Department of Forensic Medicine
The medico-legal facilities are available at the nearby JPMC where the students attend autopsies.The department has models and X-ray illuminator.

ENT Department
ENT OPD is a normal feature. At present students of 3rd and 4th year attend the dept. OPD attendance is about 220-240 patients per month

Department of Ophthalmology
Eye OPD is a regular feature in the Sir Syed Hospital, Qayumabad. The students are of 3rd and 4th year attending the classes and learn various skills.

Department of Medicine
The department of medicine meets all the requirements of teaching to the students and providing therapeutic facilities to the patients at the Sir Syed Hospital, Qayumabad.

Department of Physiology
The Department of physiology is headed by a renowred senior Professor. The course of physiology includes various aspects of human body functions and their control in detail.

Department of Pharmacology
The Department is responsible for teaching Pharmacology and Therapeutics to 3rd year students. Theory consists of 100 lectures of an hour each.

Department of General Pathology & Microbiology
The Subject of pathology is taught in 3rd and 4th year with professional exams in both years. Department was established in July 2001 .

Department of Paediatrics
It provides OPD facility and thirty beds in the Paediatric ward with ten neonatal beds . With four incubators and two paediatric ventilators.

Department of Surgery
The department of surgery is capable of undertaking all major and minor surgical cases and emergency surgical procedures.

Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology
It is one of the busiest departments of the hospital. Qualified faculty members are present around the clock.

Department of Radiology / Ultrasound
This department provides x-rays and ultrasound service to the patients indoor and outdoor round the clock.

Department of Anaesthesia
The department of anaesthesia provides support service to all surgical procedures the also looks after the ICU students and duty doctors get an opportunity improve there skills.

Department of Dermatology
Most of the patients are treated at the OPD but also admitted in the ward if required.

Department of Orthopaedics / Trauma Surgery
The patients are seen in the OPD and also admitted in the ward.

Psychiatry / Neurology Department
This department is actively involved in the teaching of medical students.
